Psalms For Moms: It's All About Perspective

"Praise the LORD, my soul, and forget not all his benefits— who forgives all your
sins and heals all your diseases, who redeems your life from the pit and crowns
you with love and compassion," Psalm 103:2-4

David could have focused on his failures. Instead, he remembered and focused on God's forgiveness. He could have focused on his diseases. Instead, he remembered and focused on how good God had been to heal them. He could have focused on the pain of the pit. Instead, he remembered and focused on the fact that God had pulled him out of it.

Difficulties are going to come. Walking with God sometimes means walking through trials. But instead of focusing on your situation, remember God's goodness. Let it permeate your thoughts and emotions. Because whatever your past performance or present struggle, God is with you to help, save and heal. He will, because He is a good God.

Thank you for this post, especially this morning's bible verse. It prompted me this morning to pray for my brother in law. To "heal his disease" of alcoholism and for God to crown him with love and compassion. This is what our Lord does, heals, loves and has compassion. Amen!

I often take time just to thank and praise God for the wonderous things he has done in my life. I admit that it is harder to do when catastrophe is happening, but your verse reminds me that this is, in fact, what I should be doing. Thanks for the excellent post today, Marybeth. I needed to hear this and be reminded of God's everlasting goodness.

God is sooooooo good even though we do not deserve it he blesses, cares, protects, redeems us from everything that has been designed to hurt us. What a mighty God. Thanks for the Psalms. David was an excellent servant, no wonder God likened him as a man after His own heart. David teaches us how much our Father really loves us.God bless.
